Why why why?????? I guess no one can know why someone takes their own life It is for us to ponder Clinically depressed? Maybe Materialistic Soceity maybe Hormonal imbalances possibly.............You can wonder why forever The reality is my daughter's and son's very good friend put a bullet in is face this week. I remember this young man as being the first to invite my daughter to his birthday party. I said, you're going to a boys birthday (IM too traditonal here) and the "oh mom" look I got.........smile....they were friends from then on as far as I can tell. Of course now I wish I could have known him better.....wish I could have had the chance....teens ..........so busy, if they could stop for one minute and look around, take a breath and realize how its all so short, so precious and fleeting. James, may you rest in peace.

Only in Tejas. Long hot hellacious summer. Winter dry as a bone. Fires a mile wide killing cattle standing still. Then I decide to take a break from work for a few. Torrential downpour. 1 dead, many evacuated. All of sudden Dallas looks like Niagra Falls on the Mississippi. Wind is blowing 40mi an hour and my garden is going to get a late frost tomorrow. Did I mention Ive had a cold. Gosh I love Springbreak. On the upside, I saw my first BlueJay this morning and I weeded like a mad woman while the ground was soft. Who needs round up anyway. Watched a wierd HBO flick called Angels in America.......ehh although it was well casted. Love Mary Louise Parker. Shes always great. If the mark of a great actress is when they have you believing they are not acting......shes got it down. Otherwise it was pretty gay. Dont have HBO so missed Sopranos last night. Local library will come through eventually. I see it all I just dont pay for any of it. Texas won in basketball, my old boss will be happy. Our house guest did not show, maybe next month he said. Well be here Brad :) Dh is happy. Molly dog is happy. Me too.

On the eve of my son's 22nd birthday I am almost without words. This should be an evening making final dinner/party plans or at least a home cooked dinner and cake. Birthday gifts, wrapping paper, bows and that oh so perfect Birthday card from Hallmarks. Tis not to be. No, no, hes okay. Please dont think this is a blog entry about someones son who has met an untimely fate in Iraq or is fighting a terrible disease. No, this is simply about a young man who has made a choice to scratch the name "Mom" from his list. My comfort is knowing that he is well, employed and has a wide circle of freinds. Happy 22nd birthday Chris. Ill just be in my garden this evening thinking of birthdays past. Peace.
